Exorship is a 3D top-down couch co-op game where you and your fellow Space Exorcist will need to work together to remove ghosts from a haunted spaceship as quickly as possible! Exorship was developed as a Final project at Vancouver Film School with myself as one of the Level Designers.
The intention behind Exorship was to create a fun, lighthearted couch co-op game where we could design engaging party game mechanics within a single level, ensuring that the layout and gameplay flow allowed players to cooperate and navigate the space effectively.

The level in Exorship was designed to evoke a haunted spaceship, capturing the eerie atmosphere through ghostly appearances, haunted mechanics, and the cold, metallic features of each thematic room, all reinforcing the unsettling tone of the environment.

During Exorships development one of the biggest challenges to overcome for level design was the balance between each section of the spaceship. Each room had individual mechanics which impacted flow and how the objective was completed. Through iteration and playtesting we found that each room had its own unique flow and playstyle which helped us plan where each gameplay mechanic should be placed to allow players to roam the ship and each room providing a method to assist never being to far from completing the objective.
